You'll probably find a lot of folks advocating the Gen3 since it's a "true CAI", and they've seen HP gains on dynos. More recently Takeda's CAI enter the scene which offers an install advantage at the cost of rain shielding. There's serveral threads out there on the discussion I'm sure you'll find it.
My opinion differs, since I've seen data that shows both the stock setup and R2C's will recieve ambient air temps when under motion, the point of exposing filters to achieve what happens with the stock setup anyway seems to be a poor choice IMO.
I also happen to believe the reason to install an intake is for sound. If all you want to do is improve airflow, I think you'd be rather close just throwing on a set of HKS filters in the stock intake and calling it a day. Add some exhaust mods, get a tune and you'll probably be pleasantly surprised and saved about $350+ dollars.

Got my CAI today, came home from work at 06:30 and put it on.
The instructions could have been a bit better. I've seen other posts with better/bigger pics to describe the install.
It's not rocket science without it but would have probably cut 30 minutes off the install time if it were better. Should be better pics showing how to route the ccv hoses. They give you some hose but I didn't use any of it. I also re used the screws from the air flow sensor. I have 4 screw left over and believe they were for that, not sure.
The quality of the product is very high. Looks to be a well thought out product.
Car sounds good, no way of telling if it added hp without dyno. Since my car only has 204 miles on it I really haven't gotten on it that much. Tonight it felt and sounded perfect.
Thanks Hy_DET, very quick shipping, perfect deal, great price.
Did I mention how great the polished nickle looks???
