After start, engine shakes violently then dies
(Video attached)
2009 G37S Automatic with 150k+ miles and no significant mods.
This is the second time this has happened in 6 months.
Yesterday I drove to the store and let the car sit for 20 minutes or so. Then when I went to leave, this happened. The engine shakes the car violently and has a very low idle that decreases until it dies. Giving it some gas doesn't do anything.
I took a video of the 5th time I tried starting it and turned it off myself right before the engine quit. My foot was off the gas so the RPM changes weren't from me.
After letting it sit for an additional 30 minutes it starts up slightly rough and then drives normal after a couple minutes of being on the gas.
Last time this happened I swapped out the plugs, cleaned the throttle bodies and checked the filters. I didn't find anything that was the obvious culprit.
I live in West Texas and both times this happened it was around 100+ degrees and in the same parking lot. Maybe I start shopping somewhere else lol.
Anyone else seen this before? Strange that this happens so randomly and drives just fine before and after.
