Help shift **** stuck/won’t go into park
Yesterday I had to take out the radio to replace a part. I had to take off the housing for the shift **** as well. When I put it all back on, now the **** won’t shift into park on its own. Shifts to all other gears fine, but when going to park, it won’t go up into the “park” nook so the car beeps when i turn it off thinking the car isn’t in park. I have to pry it into the nook with a screwdriver now into park. The video shows this in detail. Any advice on how I can fix it?
the first pic shows the metal pin in the stuck position in park. The second pic shows the metal pin where it’s supposed to be in park. Link to YouTube video that shows the issue in detail is provided.

I’m not sure what the tow notch is. Can you please clarify? I’ve tried to put the shift **** back on, but when shifting into park, the button on the **** can’t be pressed because the metal pin isnt in the “park” nook.

In the owner's manual, I believe it's referred to as the "shift lock release".
Usually used to get it out of park, and into neutral for towing.
But it might help in your situation.
In your pic without the console cover, it's the square white button at about 10 o'clock.
With the cover on there's a little tab/cover you have to pry up.
then press down with the key In your fob or a flathead screwdriver or whatever
Note: the car won't shift with the battery unhooked.
I dont recommend hooking up the battery if you've got wiring disconnected. Or even components hanging. That's how I fried the lights and clock on my center console.
