Z1 370Z Supercharger Tuner Kit
Just saw this posted to IG:

Wonder why it wouldn't work on the G37? Maybe they haven't tested yet.

I'm guessing if someone calls them that they'd have an answer. Many asked the same question on the IG post. It's basically the same motor/packaging, but there could be a few nuances they are working through.

Because the Z is the main selling point. If it worked in a Z then anything VHR will replicate the results. In comparison a Z making these numbers will grab the attention of more folks than any other VHR chassis so why waste the money on marketing that will not pull as much as the Z34 chassis would.

I wonder how many of these superchargers will get strapped onto high mileage VQ37s and result in premature failures, similar to people adding JB4 boost controllers to non Red Sport Qs and blaming Infiniti for quality issues.
I guess the cost of the kit, along with the skills required to install it may serve as a barrier to entry for many that do not have the finances to do the build correctly.

I always figured mileage isn't as important as maintenance. I've been looking at the stillen kit recently and I've got 155k on mine, but before i strap any boost on it I'm going over the timing, gaskets, valve body, rear diff, maybe valve cover gaskets. I can afford to buy parts here and there but i can't afford to have a blown up car in the driveway.

However, they also believe that a supercharger is much kinder to a higher mileage engine than say a turbo since the power band on the former is applied fairly evenly across RPMs (i.e. more linear). Note that if you are considering this move that you should do it soon as they are working on a new rev of their kit (changing out the cog pullies) which will be pricier than the current kit since they have not raised prices on it in 5 years. The person I spoke to cited a few customers putting down 600hp to the wheels with the existing kit using a custom tune and install.

Good to know about the price. I'm still on the fence because i plan on getting a c6 corvette when my charger is paid off. Got big plans for that, twin turbo kit pushing around 800whp. My buddy has a jetta with 612 whp and is working a 69 datsun to swap in a similar engine and get around 800 whp so I'm determined to get something to keep up with him. I know I'll never get a reliable 800 whp out of my vq37. By reliable i mean not blowing a few engines a year.

You'll have to give some reasoning to back that up. I know most people end up disappointed in Stillen's supercharger in general.
I would have considered Z1's supercharger but that was before I made the switch to 4.08 final drive. Oh well, car is retired to focus on my RX7 now.

Price point to start is way cheaper if you want to make more power. Than the Z1 kit for 600+

CARB Compliant?
Stillen is CARB compliant. There are 40M people in CA and the automotive aftermarket TAM (Total Avail. Market) is enormous in the state, so I'm puzzled as to why so many vendors avoid CARB compliance as they could charge extra for the CARB compliant product.

Uprev supplies a CARB compliant tune, but Ecutek is lagging.
@bythabay offers a CARB compliant Turbo Kit. Stillen is the CA goto for Superchargers at this point. I spoke to Stillen the other day and they are upgrading the current kit (and raising the price as it has been the same price for 5 years).
