Test Pipe + OEM Donut Exhaust Gasket

Hello y’all,

I been having an exhaust leak since I purchased my ISR resonated test pipes. I used the gaskets that came with the test pipes and those blew out, then I got Z1 gaskets and it got better but still leaking pretty badly.

I saw a video on YouTube of a guy using OEM donut gaskets and I did not believe it at first so I gave it a try and it worked. No more exhaust leak.

Here is the Donut gasket that I used. Got it from Amazon.

Make sure to clean your manifold flange with a wire brush.

Place the donut ring on the flange, and I used thin double sided scotch tape to hold it in place. You will feel the gasket sit in place. Also, make sure the smooth side of the donut ring is facing you. Then place the test pipe on, and screw the nuts evenly around so the donut gasket gets crushed properly.

So no need for the metal or fiber gasket that usually comes with test pipes or hfc?

I used the one that came with the test pipes and it blew. Got the Z1 metal gasket and that blew.

So, you do not need to use the ones that came with the kit, and just go straight to this route. Save you the hassle of fixing exhaust leaks.

Sorry for the late response, I am on and off from this site. But, it has been holding up great for the past 10k miles. Still zero issues, and no leaks.
