What is this hose?

Hi.

Purely out of curiosity, what is this hose? For context, the firewall is on the left, and the engine is on the right.

What is this hose?-h1ovakv.jpg

Thanks!

hard to tell without greater area context, but I think that's the coolant crossover hose for the throttle bodies.

Thanks! Is that the infamous flimsy plastic connector that's prone to breaking?

I think so.

I'd say take another pic zoomed out some so I can place it next to other stuff in the engine bay, but that isn't easy with the hood edge there.

Technically, no. The "infamous connector" is on the passenger side firewall and is much larger (3/4" diameter x ≈3-4" length). See posts #5 & #11 in this thread.

Though, any plastic fitting can become brittle over time and usage...

No. I just still remember the countless "F-bombs," busted knuckles, and other profanity-laced temper-testing tantrums from when I replaced mine! That is why I used a brass fitting- I do not EVER want to go through that hassle ever again.

When I had the upper intake off, seemed relatively easy to get to - if you can lay on/float above the engine.

I am too old, fat, and short to "float" anywhere, anymore.

I resemble that remark on land. In the water I've found my inner walrus, sans the Jaime Hynemann mustache.

Thanks for the suggestion but I intend to keep both feet ON the ground until it is time for me to get under the ground.

Trucks and work vans, that's what it's intended for. We had a bunch in the USAF with extended upper platforms that we used to get up close and personal on the bottom of jet engines - safety wiring a bunch of core vane actuators above your head on a ladder is a huge RSI risk so they gave us DaVinci platforms LOL.
