DIY Mini-Dash LCD Gauges Update

We have made some additional progress and now have a much smaller working "mule" development module.
This version shows real time engine coolant temperature, engine oil temperature, engine oil pressure and air/fuel ratio of bank 1.
The next version will have multiple screens to show more data. Items like front/rear axle torque split, real time tire pressures, automatic transmission fluid temperature, and current gear.
Well.... That's all for now. Stay tuned for the next update... It's going to be VERY good!

This is awesome.

Any chances of fuel pressure, boost/vacuum, intake air temp?
increasing number of parameters that can be displayed at once to 5 or 6?

Thanks... and yes fuel pressure, boost/vacuum, intake air temp can be added.

I believe the 2014 Q60 has the 3.7 VHR engine, so everything but fuel pressure is available via the CAN bus.

Fuel pressure will require a fuel tap, 100 psi pressure sensor and the "bluetooth sensor server"

The 3.0 turbo has fuel rail pressure, boost, intake air temp all on the CAN bus, so nothing extra is required.

Actually, all the standard OBD items (known a live data or OBD Service $01) can be displayed and depending on the year that is 40 - 60 items!
As for the the number of items on a page, that can be increased, but will have each dial/gauge smaller (of course!)

Well done Frank - the test mule sure looks great, easy readouts and the choice of color on the tape makes it look "modern" ;-).

I'm definitely interested in seeing the final product and would consider buying one from you once all of the kinks are worked out.

What a cool project you are completing for all of us.

Thanks for this!

As you can guess the green tape is holding everything together incase I need to move a wire.
Once the design is frozen and the hardware is tested more, a proper circuit board will be manufactured for ease of assembly, like LEGO
