Broke down 2 miles after oil change service
Hey guys, I need some opinions on this. So yesterday I took my G to a oil change station to get it changed. Everything seemed to be going fine until 2 miles later after I got on the highway, that the car seemed to go into limp mode. I couldnt give it any gas and the check engine light came on. After pulling onto the shoulder and turning the car off, I noticed the temp gauge was maxed out and oil was splattered all over the back of my car. I did some investigating and my oil drain bolt was still on, but it was leaking out oil from another place in the engine. I then checked the dipstick and it looked like the oil was all the way up to the kink in the dipstick way above the top fill hole. Does it sound likely that they may have overfilled it with oil and the pressure caused a seal to burst? The guy who filled it did not fill it by quart, it was one of those pumps. He also didn't wait at all after checking the dipstick. The shop said that if this is on them they will cover any damages done. I made sure to get pictures of everything I could while I was broke down waiting on a tow. The car was working perfectly before I took it to this shop, and after the car didn't last even 15 minutes. What is your guy's opinion on this? Is there any other plausible explanation on what may have happened? I'm doing ALL my oil changes myself from now on. Thanks!
