VVEL relay replacement

Maybe a dumb question but how do you remove the vvel relay? It looks like I should be able to just pull up and remove it however its not budging. Before I break it, is there a trick to getting these things out?

Thanks in advance!

Yanked it with a large set of plyers. That thing was in there pretty good. Replaced the relay and vvel module, hopefully this solves my problem with the cel and limp mode.

These relays are pretty robust. What issue are you having?

I had codes indicating left and right banks were bad on the vvel sensors. From what little info I found on the web that could indicate a bad module. I replaced it with a used one and figured why not replace the relay while I'm at it. i did the throttle relearn procedure and so far so good. I've gone about 30 miles with no issues so far. Hopefully it stays that way.

The VVEL module was placed in the worst place possible. Can usually be found fairly inexpensive since they're not sought after.

It wasn't too bad to get to. Just take out the battery and unbolt the bracket holding it and the fuse block in place and yes they are available on ebay cheap compared to almost $900 new.

Where did you locate a replacement VVEL relay? Part #? Vendor? I have been looking for one with no success - thank you.

The best you can do is find them at your local jy. I believe they're made by Omron, I could be wrong.

The relay box has to come out, then the bottom of that box needs to be removed.
Once the bottom is removed, you can shine a light and will see the holding clip that holds the relay.
PITA to access.

BTW the relays are made by HELLA
