G37x ENGINE OVERHEATED

Have had zero issues with my car until yesterday in a drive -thru... I heard a, what can be best described as a balloon having the air let out of it real quick. Not a pop, just a quick....PSSSSHHHHH!
I immediately pulled out of line and popped the hood... engine had def overheated. I had no warnings, although I wasn't paying attention to my gauges while idle...but I do remember my heat coming on slowly that morning.
?????
Any Ideas...praying it not a head gasket.

There's a plastic coupler or two connecting several hoses on one or both sides of the engine (sorry, can't remember). Over time they become brittle and eventually fail.

That would be my guess.
