Finally got the swap done. After coming back from deployment. Runs amazing and with no issues.

Congrats. How much did labor cost you? Where’d you have it done? A dealer or local mechanic?

Welcome home and thank you for your service.

Any additional details on the swap? Tips/tricks/pointers?

Labor cost was $1,800 including the replacement of front axles and fluids. I suggest that if you are going to do the swap is to make sure the power steering, A/C and any other items that needs to be replaced is replaced while the engine is out. Do a full fluid flush as well while you are at it.

I saw your thread-looking to swap out same engine for 2016 Qx50 to 2010 g37-the rep said I may have to change out upper oil pan or lower intake-did you do either and if so were the parts expensive-planning to do work myself?

Is your g37 awd or rwd? The only main difference between the two is the upper and lower oil pan.

Hey thanks for your informative post, I have a g37 and also looking to swap for a lower miles q50 motor from lkq eBay. How has it been running since the swap? Also were you easily able to program the ecu to the new motor?

An engine swap from a Q50 should not need any of this. G wiring and G ecm will do the job.

Been running amazing.. no issues what so ever. No need to program anything just straight plug and play. just remember if you are going to swap the motor, replace other items as needed like the starter, A/C, power steering pump since you are going to have the motor out. just some example i have listed. I hope this helps.

I didn't have to change any of those. I reused my original engine harness, ecu, and pcm.

just wondering by replace do you mean from the old engine or do you need to buy a new, starter, a/c, and power steering pump.
