Timing belt question

Hi guys, This is my first post. I don't even have a G yet, but like to join forums prepurchase so as to soak up the knowledge. Anyway, my question is this: Do G37s have the kind of engine which can destroy itself if the timing belt breaks? Thanks for any info!

The g37 or any VQ engine is chain driven. If the the chain breaks which wont happen catastrophic engine damage may occur. Again not likely to break ever. Now the guides can break but should also not cause damage provided they are replaced asap.

Geez, that was sort of difficult to read. Punctuation would have helped.

Yeah I can't see anywhere in OP to add extra punctuation? It's certainly not lacking.

This is how it should have been written.

To communicate effectively, you must write to the standard. I hate posts by phone users.
