Oil temperature sensor not working

As the title reads, my oil temperature sensor isnt reading any temperature other than 275f and wont change, it is throwing a check engine and preventing me from getting an inspection on my car and preventing VVEL(according to my tuning shop) from working correctly thus them not being able to adjust timing, I have replaced the sensor to avail, anyone have an idea on a fix?

edit: to NO avail

Try to get the actual temp with torque app. I'd check wiring and then visit a mechanic

Check the oil temperature sensor wiring from the sensor to the ECU. I suspect you have a short to ground.

Sensor wiring

Does anyone have a diagram for where the wiring would be or how to find it? I could hardly find the sensor with how hidden it is there's no way I'll be able to see the wiring from under the car

The U1001 Code indicates that the ECU is not able to communicate with, in this case, the EOT sensor (Engine Oil Temp.).
To mirror what SonicVQ suggests, check the harness connector at the sensor and the wiring from the sensor to the ECU.
The EC (Engine Control) section of the FSM shows how to test the sensor and also to check the wiring. Excerpt from 2008 FSM:

Hope this helps...

^^^ Very helpful post!

We think alike...
When I first saw the CAN code, I thought it might be related... but it can't be. The oil temperature sensor is wired directly to the ECU and is a 0-5 volt analog input.

The engine oil temperature sensor (the same one is also used for engine coolant temp) is a NTC thermistor.
A thermistor is a device that changes resistance based on temperature.
The NTC, means it has a "negative temperature co-efficient" so the hotter the sensor, the lower the resistance.

Since the temp is always showing up as 275F/135C, that means the oil temperature signal wire is shorted to ground.
Have a close look at the wire harness under the alternator and follow it up as much as you can.

The post by ILM-NC G37S has all the steps to determine where the fault is.
