Time for new Serpentine?
Hey guys, everytime I start my car in the AM for work I get a squeeling sound (not extremely loud but loud enough to notice if I roll my window down) that goes away after about 10 seconds of the engine running. Took a loom at the belt tension lines and it looks like it would be wise to replace the belt correct? I'm at 67k miles and original belt. Do you think if I replace it this will fix the squeeling?

Take out the serpentine belt and inspect it for any cracks. I too started getting squeeling sound when firing it up in the morning, and i took off the serpentine belt and checked my pulleys and found two of them with bad bearings. I got the parts in today and will be replacing it tomorrow in the morning. Will keep you updated if it fixed the issue.

Wow my belt looks so much more worn than yours
Take a bat of soap and let it squeal or do it’s thing. Press the soap on the belt and see if it goes away. That’ll give you an answer as to if it’s your belt or not. If your replacing the belt, do the tensioner too.

I had a car with a belt tensioner which squealed at a very specific moment which was hard to reproduce. Drove my mechanic nuts trying to find the source of the noise, before discovering it was the tensioner.

Good advice. But a new belt is only $30 or less, and if you're going through the bother of removing the existing belt just to inspect it, then simply replace the thing. Better yet, just replace the belt with a new one anyway, for peace of mind.
