P0300 , P0524 , P0021 Can’t Figure it out ?!
I have an 08 G37 and it started going into limp mode one night while driving home , upon lookin at the codes I got the infamous Duo or Trio P0300 - Random Misfires , P0524 - Engine Oil Pressure Too Low , and of course P0021 - “A” Camshaft Position Over- Advanced , I immediately started thinking the worst , so I let the car sit for a day and I didn’t wanna drive it but I forced myself to drive it to the shop while in limp mode , the tech told me he didn’t think it was an Oil Galley Gasket and told me switch out the VVT Solenoid , he said “A” was the driver side , & so I did , I changed the solenoid and the lights cleared right up , car drove perfect then about exactly a WEEK later ,im driving home and all my codes come back and car goes BACK into limp mode , 🤦🏽♂️🤦🏽♂️🤦🏽♂️, anyways so now I’ve been talking to a Nissan Tech who I know personally , and he said he doesn’t believe it’s my my timing chain either , he said to just hold off on doing those major jobs until he knows forsure it’s not something small , also not sure if it matters but my car runs fine if I reset the ECU , my lights will go away and come back maybe two days later ? In-between that time , I can drive fine which is what I don’t understand, my car does NOT bog, shake , idle funny , it starts right up 100% Of the time, when I do reset the ECU, it takes about two days for the car to go back into limp mode , when it does it won’t go past 2.5k rpm , ,
the only thing I can think of that it does , is make very very light a chatter/ringing noise at low rpms
I wish I just knew what the issue was lol I have money put aside to fix it I just wish I knew if it was the galley gasket or what .—.

There are literally tons of threads regarding these codes. I don't know what your buddy/"Nissan Tech" is thinking, but the absolute first thing I would do- especially since you had/have the code P0524 (low oil pressure)- would be to have a oil pressure test done. Without sufficient oil pressure the VVEL system will not function properly hence the other codes.
Resetting the ECU every few days without proper diagnosing of the problem accomplishes nothing but opens the door to more potential engine damage.
Get a oil pressure test done. Then you will know for sure where you stand as far as the gallery gasket goes.

I've had the same code on my car. The p0524 light came on because I was about a 1/2 quart low on oil. Topped it off and it didn't return
The P0300 code came on because the car sits, sometimes for weeks at a time. The battery discharges and since most of my trips are just a few miles, the alternator doesn't charge the battery. (you have to drive >10 miles before it begins to charge). It drove me crazy, I changed out the coil packs, cleaned the maf's, the throttle bodies, checked the plugs, replaced the cam sensor's, and ran a can of bg44k in the tank. None of these actions did a thing. Still had the P0300 light come on after a few trips. For the past 6 months or so, I have been leaving the car on a battery maintainer and have not had one code present itself. That may not be your problem, but the maintainer solved mine.
