Whining noise when accelerating or slowing down
Greetings,
I have a 2013 G37x coupe and this morning when I was leaving I noticed there is a whining sound when I am accelerating. The faster I go the higher pitch the sound is, audible at around 30 mph and then just gets higher pitch the faster I go. If I am slowing down the noise gets lower.
While driving and hearing this noise I have tried to put the car in neutral and hitting the gas / revving the engine and it does not change the noise, it only changes depending on how fast I am actually moving. I have also tried to listen to any changes while turning the car as I read online it could be the bearings, but no change while turning. It sounds like it's coming from the front of the car, but I am not sure. A friend of mine said it could be the rear differential. Reving while parked also does not produce the whining sound. It's only while the car is moving..
Does anyone know what this may be, or have had this problem? Car is driving fine, no check engine lights or anything.. Thanks in advance for any reply.

We have not had any snow yet, just cold weather.
I had a friend ride with me tonight and we confirmed the sound was from the front passenger side. Do you think I need to change the whole wheel hub assembly? I will try to wash around there tomorrow to see if that changes anything.

I took the car to a mechanic who drove the car with me and listened to the noise. He then raised the car up and listened to the wheel spinning and everywhere underneath the car with a stethoscope looking thing. He said it's the transfer case and not wheel bearings.
