Yup, plan to do the water pump too if im given a reasonable price range for the repair.

Otherwise, either an engine swap to 2016 or newer vq with lower milage or hang up my gloves and trade in for a different 6spd sports car (which sucks because ive always wanted a G and love the car but yea...)

60k mileage for this kind of failure... im really pissed at nissan right now. Hell even rx8s have a better track record than us it seems

Just remember in comparison to the numbers produced failure rate is really small. So small there wasn't even a TSB.
Also its gallery not galley. Once you do the repair that's literally the only thing that breaks that's huge. This thing will run 250-300k miles easily.

All good. Infiniti wanted nearly 3000.
Nissan did all and water pump for 1632 out the door. It's basically the price of a clutch job. Not the end of the world. Best part once its dont shell run another 200k miles easily.
Find a nissan dealer

Im checking with a performance shop here i met that works specifically on from historic to new Zs, Gs as well, and Skylines, Silvias/240s ect. They've been around the block with nissans for a very long time. If they give me a good price all will be well.

The silver lining i guess is i finally know where my random low end power loss came from finally. Ive been going crazy trying anything and everything all summer to figure that out. If all goes well hopefully i can help other canadians on the forum by sending them there.

[QUOTE=PNW_IPL;4257094]Yep.

Hey man, when you had your gallery gaskets done, Whats the break in period after having that work done? How long did you take it easy before going back to spirited driving?

Good deal man. Hoping all goes well. You'll have a good warranty if u went through the dealer so I'd drive hard during that year.

Thanks! No dealer , independent shop that specializes in nissans and has done gallery gaskets many times. They build twin turbo vqs so im not worried on the quality of their work. They seem like great guys.
