Anyone know what this weird sound is?
Hi guys,
When I was accelerating at around 80 mph today, a weird sound along with burning smell showed up, which is recorded by my dashcam.

My car is 2012 g37 sedan, the sound is like there's a piece of metal being scraped, anyone knows where this sound is from or how to fix it?
Any information would be appreciated.

I never heard it before, maybe you’re right It was kind of windy today, I’m not sure because I feel like I smelt something burnt, it’s so confusing. I’m going to drive it again at high speed to see if it will happen again.

wind howl/whistle. i would check if your windows may not be in the full up position. if all windows are in full up position the next thing you need to do is start taping off the door seams one by one to isolate the problem area and ck the integrity of the seal or clips holding the seal.

Sometimes a brake shield can create an unusual resonance that can disappear after the obstruction is resolved. Yours sounds more like a whistle, but thowing that out there anyway, since you said it was matched with a burning smell.

I drove at high speed again today, the weird sound never happen anymore, so I think you’re right it should be the wind whistle. As for the burning smell, I read this thread https://www.myg37.com/forums/g37-cou...ing-smell.html someone mentioned it might be a leaking radiator hose, so I checked my radiator hoses, surprisingly found I actually do have a leaking radiator hose, I think most likely this is the cause of the problem.

That's the culprit. Do the upper and lower hoses in silicone while you're in there draining the coolant. Easy DIY job, you only have to pull the overflow reservoir and driver side airbox.
