Spark plug question
Good day all.
Thinking of installing new spark plugs on my 2008 g37s and I am planning to buy them from rockauto. However I am not sure which NGK spark plugs to buy. Im somewhat confused because there are two NGK entry:
1. NGK 90174 gap 0.044" laser iridium (#1305) 15.56 cad/piece
2. NGK 1305 gap 0.044" laser iridium 30.26 cad/piece.
Am I missing something here? Of course I would opt buying the cheaper one. Its just I dont want to buy the wrong/incompatible parts. Thank you.

The VQ37 seems rather sensitive to spark plugs. If you do some searching here, you'll see that. Which is to say, don't bother trying to differentiate the NGKs as neither will perform satisfactorily.

Which is surprising since NGKs have a pretty good reputation. For whatever reason, Denso plugs are the only ones that play nice with our car.
OP, I had a similar inquiry when I changed mine out. I've ran NGKs in my past three cars and never had an issue. After some reading on here, a lot of owners would throw codes, misfires and a laundry list of other issues.
I installed the Denso plugs 20k+ miles ago and have not had a single issue. Unless you're running a boosted application and require colder plugs, the OEM plugs are the way to go.

My 0.02, I have the VQ35HR, I have used 2 sets of NGK lazer iridium's with no problems about 100k kms on each set ...that being said Denso are a safer bet as they are OEM.
To answer your question, the tw ospark plugs you are comparing are the same. They are both the NGK #1305 Lazer Iridium spark plug. the difference is that the second one is the per-unit price in a 4 pack. For some reason the per unit price is cheaper when you buy them separately...this was the case when I bought them from rock auto as well...i.e you can't buy 6 of the the 2nd option, you'd have to buy one four pack and two of the others anyways...Just order 6 of the individual ones

I was searching for OEM spark plugs (Denso 3457) but it looks like they have been discontinued or in shortage unless getting them at Infiniti/Nissan dealers. There are plenty of "OEM" plugs on Ebay and around $30 for 6 but I hesitate to get them there as they are super cheap and does not seem right. There is one selling for $15/each but I am still not sure if they are the real OEM plugs.
The other plug, like OP says is the NGK DF8H-11B (90174). I don't know if these would really cause issues. Anyone tried?
Another question: Where do you get the spark plug socket (14mm 6 point, magnetic)? I found one " BikeMaster 14mm Magnetic Spark Plug Socket" but it is not a thin wall type. Is 9/16 with 12 points OK to use?
Thanks!

Only use OEM Denso 3457 FXE24HR11. Find a coupon code and buy the right part. Don't cheap out on crappy plugs, you'll regret it.

I didn't have to use a thin walled socket. Any auto parts store should have the socket you need.
