Car temperature stays at H

Hi everyone! I have a G37x...today while I was driving the car started to jerk. The temperature gauge stays at H even after the car has been off for 5 plus
hours. Can someone give me any idea on what this could be? TIA.

Check cooling fans, look for coolant leaks

When you say temp gauge at H, you mean at H when car is off (Key off) as well? The gauges go to their "home" position on shutdown.

The temperature gauge stays at H within 10 mins of me starting my car. After being off over night, it went back down to C which is normal. It seems that the heat isn’t escaping the hood.

when you say 10 minutes of starting car, did you mean 10 minutes of driving or 10 minutes of idling in park? what do you mean by the heat isn't escaping the hood? if you have no leaks and the cooling fans are working i would check to see if your thermostat might be stuck. feel the top and bottom radiator hoses, they should feel like the same temperature while running your car and the fans start to come on when the engine temp rises.

10 minutes idling in park. I presses the gas a few times
too, to see if the car was going to jerk like yesterday but that didn’t happen. My next guess was to check the thermostat and I ordered one and will start that process tmrw. How hard is it to change? When I felt the hose earlier the temperature weren’t the same so it clue me that it might be the thermostat. By chance do you have a picture of the hose? Just Incase I need to order a new one, I want to make sure I order the right one and all this will solve the problem.
Thank you.
