PO447 Code EVAP Canister Vent Control Valve

Got a Service Engine Soon alarm today, plugged in the reader and got a PO447 code for the EVAP canister vent control valve. Where is it located and how do I fix it?
Thanks, Sam

The canister is located under the car in the area of the bumper. I want to say it is on the right (passenger) side. Replacing the valve is relatively easy:

Some forum members have encountered a little difficulty removing the valve due to the o-ring swelling/distorting/"getting stuck." Be firm yet patient and it should pop right out once you rotate/unlock the valve.

Hope this helps.

Thanks, much appreciated. I looked in the service manual but couldn't find it.

Can't get it out. How far should I have to rotate it to line up the thing to get it out? I can only rotate it to about 45 degrees without removing the whole canister.

Rotate the valve 45° counterclockwise and pull. As mentioned, some have had problems getting the old one out. Just have to keep at it until the o-ring breaks free.

I finally pried it out but two of the little retaining clips broke off. I can't rotate it to 45 degrees, only about 35 degrees because it doesn't have enough clearance with part of the suspension. I'm probably going to have to take the canister out to get it back in. It doesn't look like it'll line back up with the housing without dropping it. Ah well, I'll find out tomorrow morning when my part gets here.

Is there any new advice on how to do this on the coupe? I’ve removed my old one but broke part of the old vent control valve as I pulled outward. I don’t think I had it rotated enough.

I am unable to get the new one in and utterly clueless where the one bolt that holds the Evan canister in is, or how many rusty panels I need to undo to get to this one bolt.

slovell1 suggested filing down the tabs in order to not have to rotate the new part past the subframe, rahter install it at ~30 degrees. This approach helped me get my replacement part in. Pics and details another thread (here).
