I had the transmission fluid swapped a couple of months ago. Now when I enter a round-a-bout, the transmission won't downshift to first when entering. So when I apply the gas peddle it revs then clunks in to gear(1st). Any of you guys have some decent thoughts on this? When I purchased the car in 2013 under warranty it had the patch/ update done to the tranny.

Are you saying you're trying to downshift into 1st using manual mode via the shifter and it won't downshift?

I'm saying as I enter the roundabout decelerating from 35'ish in automatic if I have to come to a complete stop the transmission hasn't figured out that it needs to downshift all the way to 1st and lags then clunks into first. First works fine so I don't believe the tranny is slipping but i can't seem to figure out that it needs to downshift. All of this is relatively new and only since I had the tranny fluid swapped. For what it's worth, I don't think the shop used Nissan ATF.

as long as it meets nissan matic s (or is it j?) Standards than you're good. I used BG synthetic atf and did a transmission fluid exchange. About 20k miles now and no issues.

did they do a drain and fill or complete fluid exchange of 10+ quarts?

its possible they disconnected your battery during the process of flushing the tranny, if so your car well need to relearn your driving but if you feel its something more than that I would take it back n on a side note if you drive in manual does it act the same?

I don't think its the programming in the Tranny and it doesn't do it manual. Also seems more prevalent when it's cold. Almost like the fluid is goopy or something. Is that even possible?

I'm trying to find the thread but another member had a similar issue not only was the car driving totally different but his exhaust note also change n not in any way towards his liking but after a few weeks of aggressive driving he said everything went back to normal but that doesn't seem to be the case, can you replicate what the car is doing for the dealer?? Let them know this started to only occur after the fluid change, good luck n keep us posted. It's also possible to have some build up that got lost during the drain but if they didn't cycle through the system until its clean n just refilled then yes there could be some goopy **** in with your transmission fluid, my dealership did the full cycle flush for 280 n my shifts are smooth as butter.
