Hi guys so been searching and can't find an answer, I have a 13 g37 7at and I was vinyl wrapping some trim pieces. Long story short something broke when I was putting the shift **** back on. Its almost like the pin doesn't have enough power to push out the button on the shifter so with the shift **** on it wont lock into park and the button stays in. If I remove the shift **** it works fine the white pin moves up like its suppose to and locks into place in park. With the shift **** on I can move the shifter in and out of park without the button. Was going to go ahead and order a used shift **** off ebay but wanted to see if I should be looking at the shift assembly instead. Any help would be great. Thanks

 

Have you tried looking at the FSM under Transaxle and Transmission section? It has an explanation and diagram of the shifter assembly.

 

Yea I looked through the fsm a couple times and couldnt find an obvious solution. Wanted to see if anyone else has had this problem and if for them it was a problem with the button or the shifter assembly
