Help! P0524 code
#16
I think we are all in agreement that when this code appears, it is most likely a leak in the rear timing cover gasket. The way to confirm this is with an oil pressure test. If you read low (close is low), know it's not a cheap fix out of warranty.

Same codes ugh
I’m late to this conversation but I suddenly have the same codes with my car going limp. 2008 G37. Did any of you have an oil leak or anything to suggest the gasket leaking? I have nothing leaking. THANK YOU! Trying oil pressure sensor before this gasket.

Hey mom41beauty did the oil pressure sensor fix your issue?
And all, I have a 2011 G37X that just turn 100k and had this happen to me yesterday on the way home. Car would buck like you guys said around 3,000 rpm's like it was hitting the rev limited. Didn't go into limp more as it would drive normal under 3,000 rpm's. With FIXD I validated it's the P0524 and P0021 codes. I cleared the codes and now it drives fine. I'm wondering how much time do I have to find a reputable shop that can perform this repair before it possibly goes into limp mode? Anyone clear the codes and drive slow til it happened again? Or did you all just go get it fixed right away at a dealer?
