Need a tune/ I wanna smell your testpipes lmfao
Hey what's going on folks, hope everyones week was great but better now since it's friday.
I looking to add some mods to my car, headers and either HFC's or a set of testpipes and a tune. I've done some research and from what I've come across, most people with testpipes are saying that theres some type of odor that come with them, which makes since. My first question is how bad is the odor and what the hell does it smell like? lmao
Better yet and this is for the Los Angeles G owners that have testpipes installed, lol can we hook up and so i can smell what i'm getting myself into? lmao lol
and last thing, I'm looking for a dope shop that does amazing tunes at a great price. I don't mind driving 70 miles out of LA for it. Truthfully, I prefer that because its nothing but freeway to get back home.
Thank y'all ttyl

It all comes down to personal preference, I've been running test pipes for more than a year. I can only smell it when idling with the windows down. Everyone behind me can smell it. For me, it does not bug me one bit. Others, they cannot stand it. HFC's smell less than test pipes.

I had test pipes on my G35 coupe, I had Fast Intentions first and then I upgraded to ART pipes. Both test pipes made the car smell, most people describe it as rotten eggs. I mostly smelled it when idling and under hard acceleration.
Also you will have to find a way to get around the CA smog inspection and I hear they are fairly strict over there.

IMO it's more of a raw fuel smell that can irritate your eyes if you're standing behind an idling test-piped vehicle. I'd be worried about having them in California because of the smog-police, it's hard to hide the fact that you have them.

It's going to be tough w/ HFCs or TPs in California, but if you're willing to revert back to stock whenever you're due for a check that's up to you. The cats are a pain to change out the first time but if you use a good copper anti-sieze on the fasteners it won't be nearly as tough changing them out again.
TPs will be more obvious due to the smell but both will fail the visual. If you do decide to get TPs be sure to get resonated ones, the regular TPs have annoying rasp.
