Leaky Valve Gasket cover

So I learned that my valve cover gaskets are leaking. I was quoted around 500-600$.

Searched the forums but little I could find.

So does this mean that I will also have the dreaded timing cover leak? I hope not.

What is a reasonable price for this job and what should I look for?

Valve cover leak has nothing to do with the timing cover leak. If you are some what mechnically inclined, you can buy a pair of valve covers and tackle the job yourself, it isn't very hard. I think $300 would be around what it should cost. That's labor only by the way.
