SC kit vs TC kit opinions
Originally thought of Stillen SC kit but what kits are available out there for turbo setup and how difficult is it for installation, granted I would be doing a custom tune. I'll be using ECUTEK tune here shortly for bolt ons til I save for SC or TC kit

Single turbo Boosted Performance: No motor drop required, probably a little more involved than the SC, but not by much.
AAM or Fast Intentions twin turbo: Motor drop is heavily recommended, costs a bit more.

What about if I have AWD and 7speed Auto? Am I limited with what brands I can go with? The stillen SC interested me because of cost but after finding out some of the parts in their kit is **** and have to buy other parts to make it better it seems like I best to go a TC route.....maybe just seeing if my shop does custom kits and would be less expensive cause seeing these 11k to 25k prices in the forum for a kit that's really only usable on a track cause daily driving around here is slow, I can't justify that, shooting under 10k was where I could see FI reasonable.

With an AWD, I think a bit more care is needed. A valve body upgrade may be needed. I have an AWD also and honestly have felt that that has added to the battle for "more power". Unfortunately for us, the drivetrain is probably more sensitive (once you reach a certain HP/TQ) than the engine.
My last car was a manual and everything was just so simple. This seems to be bit more tricky,. So I'd say that if you're trying to go with a high HP/TQ setup, you're looking at some pretty pricey upgrades across the board.

If I did FI I would only do single turbo or SC and I would max myself out at 430awhp.......or whp however these awd models put down power. O would love to hit 320awhp with NA but I know that's tricky to get.

I had it on my X coupe. There is a few guys on here with AWD and FI mine made 457 WHP ( Still SC) with mods to it but the tune sucked and the MAF readings are inaccurate for that power level( For where there are) and engine popped.
With AWD our FI options are limited. Boosted doesn't make one, GTM is a BIG NO NO, So ,10-12 K for the stillen kit + cooling mods and maf placement move, maybe Air-Air kit( Check the 370Z forum for this) When all is said and done you' ll have 420 WHP( With out air to air) and if your tune is good you be fine.
If you go air to air expect another 40 or so WHP and be around 365-370 WHTRQ, but that TQ is too high for out trans, really only for for about 330sih
Mods you will need are MAF replacement or tune with speed density, a trans cooler and a bigger heat exchanger. "Frozenboost" AIT sensor isnt a bad idea either

If you are doing the install yourself, then you could maybe squeak by at 10k, but I doubt it if you get a custom tune (which is mandatory FI). So if 10k is your limit, I would look to stay NA. FI never is as cheap as you originally believe.

AAM won't fit the AWD. Under 10k is barely doable, but you are pretty limited to your options. If you can get a shop to do a custom single turbo setup similar to BP's, then that would be awesome. Your best chances are picking up a used stillen kit for around 4k. SD EcuTek tune + coolers and you'll be under 10k. The only thing you'll be missing out is transmission work, but I've seen people survive without it as long as the tune is good.

I was thinking that I may have to see into a custom single turbo. I don't need twins cause only time I would need the boost of a single turbo is doing drags at the track or highway punch.
I have a buddy who's offered me 2 turbo snails from...**** I forgot the brand name but it's one of the popular and strongly build brands that most oem manufactures use...Anyways he said I can have em for 800 for both.

Thankfully a have lots of time to research or buy a build piece by piece. I have a local tuner who was one of the firsts to do FI on the scion frs and subaru brz.....so he's got experience. And I've only owed 1 SC car before and never owned a turbo car. Would love to see this AWD coupe with a FI single turbo or SC kit. I know the SC kit from stillen is 6400 give or take and then I need to get tranny cooler, oil cooler in addition and maybe upgrade the intercooler though the boost I'm looking at won't be too severe since I'm just ginning for the 400whp range.
