I had the same thing happen to me in jersey years and years ago, it was a 95 acura Integra that got the the full tank of 87. That thing had no torgue so I felt it, at least I think I did (probably in my head too) but you'll be perfectly fine

I've been using 93 octane ever since I got the car however last week I filled half way with 87 and have not noticed any difference.

There are several users here on the forum that use 87 octane on a regular basis and swear by it (Telcoman?). Like others mentioned, you have nothing to worry about in a modern ECU controlled car.

Is "non-english speaking" a race now? Give me a ****ing break. His lack of comprehension of the english language (or even a half dozen words critical to his job) was instrumental in him not being able to follow simple instructions. Could have been some blonde-haired blue-eyed Aryan who only spoke German for all you ****ing know, you hypersensitive ****.

I usually do when circumstances force me to fill up in jersey, but i was busy cleaning turnpike grime off my windshield.

This isn't the first problem I've had either with NJ gas station attendants over the years. Wrong octane more than once. Aggressively topping off your tank until the evap canister is full. One particularly helpful guy filled up my coolant overflow tank with windshield washer fluid.

Come to think of it, I'm feigning ignorance and pumping my own gas next time. Worst they can do is write a ticket in the off chance they happen to be inspecting that station that day.
