No they wont, its a purchased extended warranty through Infiniti, just like mine. He'll have to make a claim with the warranty company and have them pay etc, its not a factory infiniti warranty.

Either way, doesn't matter, just need to get it in writing from a reputable shop that the trans needs replaced and it'll get done.

My extended warranty it though Allstate. No real complaints with it. Hell, saved my *** alrwady and has almost paid for itself twice. My buddy is a big BMW guy, and he swears by his aftermarket warranty.

But I agree with you. I grinded the gears in my g35 maybe 3 times in my 5 years of ownership, and I ragged on her Everytime I drove her. My g37 is totally different, I'm really having to learn how to drive this one. I feel like you cannot shift as quick. Maybe it's just me or my car.

Yeah I totally feel that. Now I have an occasional issue of grinding into second when I downshift... never when upshifting.

Been having a similar issue with 5th, same thing only when shifting fast at higher RPMs, and I know the clutch is completely depressed. I'm guessing it's the synchro but I don't think it's a serious enough problem to dump a ton of money into it, not like I need to shift fast into 5th very often haha

Or you just need to match revs. I can cleanly get into first in all sorts of varied situations and speeds up to 25-30mph. More cleanly when its a downshift in preparation for an "almost stop" yield type situation. But I slip into 1st comfortably all day in senarios that are not anywhere close to being stationary. Fwiw, this car downshifts SO much easier than any awd manual I've driven, I say it's downright inviting!
