VDC completely off mod/switch

I plan on doing this VDC mod switch as when I really would like to be able to completely turn off VDC at certain times. As we all know when you turn it off normally its still not 100% off and well thats bullcrap haha

Here is the DIY I found:
https://www.myg37.com/forums/d-i-y-i...n-control.html

Now is there any way to access this from the drivers side fuse box like with the parking break and speed sensors?

My next question is which rocker switch do you all think I should add as it will be going in the blank spot either between the heated seat switches or near the trunk release. Here are my three options so far.

A) Carbon Fiber Toggle w/ Cover

B) Red Rocker switch non-illuminated

c) Sport rocker switch

I would definitely go with option C, the rocket style switch is super lame.

I have been rattling in my head what I want it to look like as well when I do this. For me though Option C: still retains OEM look as my car has a blank rocker switch that I would just install that.
The only way those others would look in place is if you need to flip 15 of them, all in a sequence to start the jet up.
Now what I am really trying to figure out is how to make the cluster change color like the Hellcat-switching between black and red key fob I think.
stock cluster=normal mode; modded cluster=better know what the eff your doing!

On my 11 G37 S, with VDC off there is no traction control or stability control. The only part of VDC that is still on is the "e-diff" when the spinning inside tire is slightly braked to transfer torque to the other wheel. When this happens, the dash light flashes. This acts like a limited slip diff and makes it easy to over steer.

Is your car different?

(I vote sport rocker switch)

That would be pretty awesome with the modded cluster, have you gotten any leads on how to change the coloring?

Yes mine does that also however it still noticeably cuts power to the wheels. I would roughly say it is 85-90% off but it cuts power still and doesnt allow power braking or any throttle with the brake on so it really doesnt allow it for any launches either. It has a VLSD already so idk why they have the nannies on a bit still, I want off when I press off lol

My opinion between your first 3 options is if you have a carbon fiber interior choose option A otherwise option C.

As for the recent post you made I'm really liking those oem looking ones. Much more sleek and looks less like a fake NOS switch lol.

Can't wait to see what you choose brother! Best of luck!

Interesting... My 11 6MT does not cut power when VDC is off. Maybe that a difference between the G35 and G37?

Have fun a little longer, it'll cut power. Vdc will be like "ok kids. That's enough. You had your fun."

Ahhh nope. I have had VDC off for a 6 hour drive in 5" of snow while enjoying the tail happy nature of the G37.

Power is never cut on my car, which is just like what the owner's manual says:
When the VDC switch is used to turn off the system, the VDC system still operates to prevent one drive wheel from slipping by transferring power to a non slipping drive wheel.

Maybe it is the auto going up a gear?

^^^ I suspect you are "manually shifting' an automatic transmission..
VDC must work differently on the AWD and/or automatic transmission G37s.

With VDC off on my rear wheel drive, manual 6 speed, power is never cut. At my next track day, I will post some skid pad videos.

I think you are right, when I had my uprev done they said the TC/VDC/power cut off whatever you would want to call it kicks in even when VDC is off is a way of protecting the transmission.

It doesnt allow you to power brake or get revs over ~2000 with the brake on and still sometimes kicks in when driving hard, however its not predictable which makes things tough, you can spin out in a corner one time or notice the slip light comes on and it cuts throttle for a second another time.

SonicVQ does yours cut power when you hit redline or does it bounce off the rev limiter?
