G37 Coupe Clutch
Car: 2009, g37 6MT, Mileage ~ 68K, First owner
Location: SF Bay Area(East Bay)
So yesterday, while I was stopped at a red light my car decided to quit on me . Clutch pedal went all the way to the floor and stayed down there. Couldn't shift anymore.
I'm assuming this is the dreaded slave cylinder issue. Because everything else is just fine, except I can't shift no more. So questions:
a) How much would be a reasonable estimate for the repair work in SF Bayarea? I know nothing about car repairs and hence don't want to get ripped off. So any hints would be appreciated!
b) Should I replace master too while am at it? what would be a fair estimate?
c) Should I replace all of clutch or just master and slave?
I read somewhere that it's better to try z-speed's. However they are back ordered and I don't have flexibility to wait.
Any help would be highly appreciated..
cheers

Hello sorry to hear that but when I had my 08 coupe 6 speed same thing happened to me so I began with getting it diagnosed, got it done at Aamco and they determined I needed a whole new clutch kit, I was at a parking lot and I couldn't put it in gear. I suggest finding a good reputable shop doing it and should cost around 500 for labor. If you need a whole new clutch kit I suggest looking into JWT kit or southbend which both are good and whenever you drop the transmission Nissan recommend changing the master cylinder as well which oem is about 125. Concept Z Performance has the z speed slave cylinder which is way better than oem I would see if they have them in stock. Good luck!
