Code po710, anyone dealt with this?

Hey guys, I got a service engine soon light, so I popped in the computer obd2 reader, and it came up with code PO710. It says it's either :
1. Actuator Sensor Power Supply
2. Fluid Temperature Sensor A

I'm guessing basically it's the transmission fluid temp sensor, and I don't want to take her to infiniti which will cost me 90$ to diagnose, and God knows how much to fix the sensors. Anyone have any experience or had success with this? Thanks a bunch

P0710: Transmission Fluid Temperature Sensor A Circuit

Three possible causes:
(1) A/T temp sensor failure
(2) A/T temp sensor circuit open
(3) A/T temp sensor circuit shorted.

Have you checked the fluid level and colour?
Has any other work been done on the car is the last while?

The A/T temp sensor can be accessed by removing the transmission pan, so if it has failed it is easy to access.

I checked the brake oil, reg oil, power steering oil and they all seem good. The coolant reservoir seems almost empty, I feel like I need to fill it up. I don't know if I just add the coolant or not. But I think I'm going to have to take a look at the temp sensor. I really hope it's not expensive. They told me to bring it in to infiniti tomorrow

I forgot to mention it's under the manufacturer warranty still. So what does TSB mean? Is it like a faulty thing infiniti let slip that they're fixing?

An SES light popped up last night and I pulled this code with my Cipher cable a few minutes ago. CPJ LB, thanks for posting the TSB! This should make my appointment tomorrow with the local stealership much simpler

YW! **PLEASE NOTE** it sounds like you’re Uprev tuned, if so, be sure to flash your car back to stock (save your license to the cable, save a copy of your tune)… I believe that the TSB calls for the dealer to reprogram the ECU - which will wipe away your tune if it is kept on the car…. once the work is completed by the dealer, then flash your tune back to the car.

When I lived in So Cal and had my M35, I had a recall procedure done at Southbay Infiniti but had Church's Auto Tuning flash my car back to stock since I didn't have the Uprev Cable, then I went back after the dealer was done. LOL, I'm currently looking to pick up a used Uprev Cable to do remote tuning on my G.

Good luck with the fix

No worries - my old boosted G35 was Uprev tuned which is why I have a Cipher cable. My G37 is stock. Will see how things go today.

Thanks again!

I just pulled the same code today after my commute to work. I suspect it could've been caused by excessive manual use in the last few weeks or just transmission fluid check due. I will give an update.

Code No Longer Shows Up

All,

I took a break from manual shifting since seeing this code and it has never returned. I am getting close to the maintenance schedule recommended transmission fluid replacement. I think that this, combined with consecutive days of manual shifting, may have been responsible for the code. Will update if anything changes.

Dealer was giving free oil changes away. They didn't talk to me, but I saw online that they read po710 CEL was on about 8 months ago. Quoted $85 to do the po710 TSB procedure. Context - diagnosis of anything there costs $160 and syn oil change $125. Brakes stupid expensive; ~$1k per axel?! I've never brought it there for an oil change or brakes.

Spark plugs are $400, which may actually not be terrible if I could get them to use my parts and give credit for it.. Hmm.
