Want to know your oil temp?

Want to know your oil temp?
I have read a lot of articles talking about the VQ37VHR and high oil temps and I wanted to see where my temps were when the ambient temp is about 32.
As many of you may know, the pro version of the "Torque" app ($5) with the "Advanced EX for Infiniti" plugin ($7) will tell you items (PIDs) that the regular OBD-2 scanners can't see. You will also need an ELM327 OBD-2 bluetooth or wi-fi scanner. ($25)
Here are some of the more interesting PIDs:
-Camshaft advance angle for bank 1/2
-Camshaft valve duty cycle bank 1/2
-Injector duty cycle
-Fuel temp
-Mass air flow (usually part of generic OBD-2, but not on this engine!)
-MAF voltage bank 1/2
and the best one...
-VVT Oil Temperature (see attached screen shot)
What really surprised me was a 10 degree increases in oil temp from a SINGLE run in second gear to 7,000 RPM WITH ambient temps at 32!!

I have the https://www.autoenginuity.com/ scan tool and your temps look about right.
I was actually checking it a couple of days ago and with air temp being about 53F and the oil temp went up to about 185F.

^ That is a very nice scan tool.
Do me a favour and watch your coolant & oil temps and do a few wide open throttle runs in second gear. Let me know how much you oil temp goes up AND did your coolant temp DROP 10+ degrees.

VonicVQ,
the beginning of the data file got corrupted and I couldn't all of the data back. but the temp did not change much.

As far as I can tell the oil temps are usually around 200-210 F.
What would be interesting to know is if the oil temps are different and/or not in that range on the engines that have the blown paper gaskets and low oil pressure issues?
So for people that do not have the oil pressure sensor installed they could monitor the oil temps with torque or similar.... and if be alerted if the oil temps are not within range.

VVT Oil Temp is not an ODB PID. Generic scanners won't display it.
Unless the OBD device understands the Nissan CAN bus protocol/encoding (like Consult - III) it won't be able to retrieve the oil temp from the ECU.

^ Yes, if you have Torque Pro and this $7 plugin:
