Thermostat/cooling

I'm going to be doing a coolant flush and was prob just going to buy the oem Nissan coolant? Those of you who have flushed what coolant did you put in?

Thinking about upgrading thermostat also. It would lower start cooling 30 degrees sooner? So excuse my ignorance, would that mean it would stay around 150 degrees rather than 180 stock??

Also would this additive be overkill? It say up to 30 degrees cooler. I have motul rbf and 8100 fluids and love them...

Is it possible to be running to cold?

OEM Nissan coolant is just fine. The long life type. As far as a thermostat with a different temperature, it's completely useless. All it affects is the temperature at which it opens. It doesn't make the car run even one degree cooler once it's at full operating temperature. Here's a good (if lengthy) explanation:

Low Temp Thermostats: What?s the Advantage? | Tuner University

Water Wetter is a good additive if you feel you need more efficient cooling. I've never used the Mocool.

Are you doing a flush or a drain/fill? For the latter 2 gallons should be plenty (actually 1.5 gals). Get a new radiator cap while you're at it.

I also got a new oring for the drain valve. Waste IMO. Next time I do a drain/fill I'll reuse the existing one. I did my first drain/fill at 3.5 years. Will be doing subsequent ones every 2 years.
