7sp auto to 6sp manual swap in sedan - anyone attempt?
Dumb question: Has anyone ever attempted to swap 7sp to 6sp in a sedan or coupe? I searched under 7sp or 6sp conversion or swap, no dice.

You would need the transmission, shifter, shifter links, new pedal, slave cylander, lines, new center console, hand brake parts, prob a 6mt ecu.... Plus installation...
Like BB said it's possible... But I would imagine it costing 6k at least

You must not be looking in the right places. There's plenty of them here on the forum. Some with far beyond 450HP. I've got one in my driveway that belongs to my wife.
Expand your search. Mine came form NY and I had it shipped to TX. But if you are insistent on getting an AT and doing the swap, best of luck. Be sure to post a build thread. Many here would be interested in that.

The lack of information is probably something that I'd be a bit hesitant on. Be prepared to spend a lot of money if you're going to be the first to attempt it.
Manufacturers have started to do a lot of things based on the transmission they're putting in the car including using different floorplans. There may need to be sheet metal work to accommodate the transmission, mounting points may not the same and may require some serious fabrication to make them work. There are all sorts of nasty surprises that can lurk when you're the first to do a project like that. Wiring and sensors is another issue because of how many different things that today's ECU's check, you may find that a harness swap and sensor swaps are all necessary as well.
There are plenty of 6MT sedans for sale, you just have to look for them, and you may have to be prepared to travel and give up some of your negotiation leverage, but a plane ticket and a drive back is WAY cheaper than what you're proposing, even if it's the simplest potential situation where it's just a straight up swap.

Honestly, if a 6MT + 400 hp is the goal, your better off finding a RWD 6MT. As an added bonus you'll get the BBK, sport suspension, fast ratio steering and LSD.
Dont forget, a transmission swap is going to cost you on the back end due to diminished value.
