Thanks, $1,300-2,600 is what I'm looking at right now.

Update: Still haven't gotten the car back or heard much from Aamco. I called them and the owner told me that Torque Converter was toast but the clutch packs in the transmission were still ok. Still waiting on the final word and price at this point. On a more positive note, I've been eying Kawasaki Ninja 300's and I'm considering grabbing one as my first bike once the G's situation is all sorted out.

Well got the car back yesterday around noon and I've put about ~170 miles on it since then. Unfortunately now the car is throwing service engine soon lights every time I merge onto the highway or have to accelerate with some effort. Plus, the transmission is making the weirdest noise I have ever heard. I don't even know how to describe it but I know it's going back.

Sorry to hear of your current issues, hope they get it sorted out for you.

Thanks Newt! I'm just working towards making sure it's mechanically A-OK before I sell it to someone else. Don't want any bad karma following me to my next purchase.

What's up KB!

It was salvaged due to a rear-end collision that didn't do that much (cosmetic) damage. It's actually running the same rear bumper and trunk that it came with initially from the factory.

The same accident with the Prius mentioned earlier in your post's totaled your car and you still own it? Usually when a car is salvaged your insurance cut's you a check for what it's worth then they scrap your car or it goes to auction. How, did you end up with it, if that's the case? And how much did you pay the insurance for it? I bet you got a smoking deal?

Update:

Car's currently in the shop awaiting a new Flex Plate. It was running in limp mode due to engine code P0355 caused by a crack in the old flex plate. $500 more and an estimated completion time of Monday night.

No, no. I bought the car from the local insurance auction and it had already been declared a total loss and salvaged due to a rear end collision. A couple weeks and some body work later, the car was back on the road with 3,000 miles running perfect. The accident with the Prius happened in April two days before my birthday and she obliterated my front bumper, headlights, radiator support and managed to hit the car so hard that she pushed it back even though it was rolling forward. Total damage came out to a little over $5-6,000 IIRC and I was pushing for insurance to total it out but the said the total of the damage wasn't anywhere near their estimated value of the vehicle so I was left without the car for a month. Got it back, drove it for a month and a half and then all of this happens and now I've been without it again for about a month.

Great car, great deal. At the time, I couldn't beat it. Originally I was in the market for other cars but this just happened to fall into my lap.

Now I just want it back running in tip-top shape again so I can save money and get some PDR done on the doors before I sell it.

If craigslist doesn't work. Try ebay as i've seen plenty of salvage title cars "sell" on there. In fact, last time i looked half of the G listings were salvaged! But, they all had bids!

Never sold anything on EBay, might be worth a shot? I'm looking forward to getting her back tomorrow!
