2009 G37x Sedan - Transmission Slipping

Recently, out of nowhere, my transmission has started to slip when I press the gas on the highway and it needs to downshift (free rev, loss of power, takes a few seconds to recover back to a lower gear and regain power). Driving gently around town it seems to be okay, so I can limp it around. No warning lights at all. Car has 75k miles and has had all recommended service done on time at the dealer.

Has anyone encountered this before? I'm assuming that full transmission replacement or rebuild will be required. Any thoughts?

Thanks for your help.

I think that's something only the dealer or other qualified shop can determine.
G/L, hopefully it's something less costly than a complete R&R.

Definitely slipping over 4000rpm or so. I don't think that the transmission longevity is generally an issue in these cars. Thankfully I bought the extended warranty.

I reset he ECU and it's so much bette.. Plus form what ppl say this car has a tendency to grear down rather ruff at times and the 1st and 2nd gear takes a bit of getting use to.. It's going for a drain and fill 4 quarts of matic S.. Soon... Plus full synthetic is in and I fill up at Costco gas station.. There is less erothane in the gas and it's better for the car and my wallet... Dealership told me that one.. ...

Interesting resolution to this one. Turned out that both MAF's were reading wildly out of acceptable range and causing the car to begin to drastically cut power and go into some equivalent of limp mode (without any CEL's) at higher RPMS. Dealership tested this by hooking the car up to monitoring software and letting it idle for 2+ hours. MAFs were replaced and the performance returned to normal.

Now, however, in the last few days the trans has started doing lazy/slow/awkward downshifts at low speed and getting confused with rapid inputs...so I'm not sure what is going on or if it is even related. I got the most recent reflash of the transmission over a year ago, and the trans fluid was changed on schedule at the 60k service by the dealer. Will probably be bringing it back in to the dealer.
