Frozenboost - heat exchanger or front mount intercooler?

With the FB it is still warm after spirited driving but not screaming hot like it was before, superheating the intake air. To quote ANMVQ... after the first hard pull you will feel like you are towing a boat. I actually had to check which map I was on as the car lost so much power.

The coolant capacity is also much higher with the bigger intercooler so you have more fluid in the system to dissipate heat.
you didn't clarify.....

what is the coolant line path? do you run one line from the coolant to the FB and the from the FB to the stillen manifold?

I thought that ANMVQ had covered that so I didn't bother to repeat what he said. It is a replacement for the Stillen kit intercooler... two hoses go to it. You simply reroute the same two hoses to the new FB intercooler.

Basically the unit would be held on the car by the bumper? that sounds pretty scary.
If you not mechanically inclined take it some where and pay to have it done. Youe mess this up your SC will blow hot air and you have issues. You can pick up everything you need from AutoZone to install this
The only thing you'll come across is the tow hook, You'll have to cut it off( Zero use IMO anyways- I cut mine off) or set the exchanger off center to to clear it. The install is not hard but takes time.

BTW this bolts to the car not the bumper, :/

Has anyone tried putting fans on this or is it generally good enough without them?

The shop is saying there's a lot of fitment issues already.

It's more than just cutting the tow hook. It's not even possible to do it since I have an oil cooler according to the shop.

I think you need a different shop. We all have oil coolers (don't we?) I hate that it is a different oil filter!

The install is easy. I think the removal of the tow hook complicates things. I just moved it over a little to the driver side. with the bumper skin on you can't see it is not centered.

From: Framingham Ma,
I just looked at you pic , So what the issue, One or two guys have done that because they wanted to keep the tow hook.

You'll need to fabricate brackets. This is what I came up with with a friend of mine for the Frozenboost heat exchanger and the Z1 34 row Setrab oil cooler:

I flipped the bumper beam upside down for a flat surface, and mounted the oil cooler behind the driver's side lower vent. The great thing about this is that I was able to still use the factory foam padding in front of the crash beam, and the heat exchanger is still centered.
