Additional cooling tips?
i got the stillen oil cooler. I got the zspeed under shroud. Does anyone have the mishimoto thermostat? (I know gofightnyugen, mishimoto is garbage.) does it make the engine "too cold" like some claim? Has it failed on anyone? What are your average coolant temps after installation?
What about the csf radiator and condenser? Is it hard to install? Is it worth the $600? What are your average coolant temps after installation?
Any other tips or mods to improve cooling of the engine?
I live in constant 70-90° degree weather all year round and drive at 30mph on average. The car's average mph is 10.9 mph at 10.5 mpg. My intake temps are always in the 80s and my coolant temps be between 220°-240°
I would prefer 180-200° ... Any advice?

The thermostat won't really help your cooling at all. They are worthless on daily driven cars, but people continue to spend money on them because they don't understand how the thermostat actually works.
Low Temp Thermostats: What?s the Advantage? | Tuner University
Get the CSF radiator. It expands your cooling capacity and cools more efficiently than the OEM one. Incidentally I have a brand new CSF radiator that's been sitting in my garage in the box that I decided not to use when I scrapped my turbo plans. If you have 6MT and are interested in it, let me know.

Very detailed article. I understood the basics of a thermostat in the car but the article gave a a well detailed explanation on how it works. Thank you for that. If the csf radiator would be a better purchase to try and overcome this overheating issue these VQs have then that'll be the route i'll take (yes i have three foot pedals ).
still willing to see if anyone in the forum used the mishimoto thermostat tho.

High intake air temps is due to the lack of heat extraction in our cars. A vented hood was next on my list.
If at 60 mph your car cools insanely better than in stand still, there's a small chance your OEM fans are getting a little weak. Noticed than on my '08 as well.
The triple-pass CSF radiator is definitely worth the $600.

Vented hoods. I sorta want one but I think they take away from the luxurious look the car has. Makes it a lil more sporty but I feel it does serve a legit purpose.
Not my car but Still looks cool though. Synolimit, care to post a pic of your front end/hood?
I'm leaning towards the csf radiator though. Just sucks that the ac is apart of the radiator installation.

I personally wouldn't get the [flame suit on]cheap looking, poor fitting, fake CF Seibon hood [/flame suit off]
Find a decent customs shop that will modify your OEM hood, keep the classy look!

Mishimoto makes crap, never put any of their stuff on your car. If you want a lower thermostat just buy and OEM from a 2008 G37. It's 10deg cooler than the 2009+ year models.

What ratio of water/antifreeze do you have? Have you considered less coolant/antifreeze and more water, coupled with a higher pressure radiator cap? I'm assuming you never see temps in the 30's F. Are you familiar with water-wetter? Additional fans? These are some solutions/considerations I'd look into before cutting any holes in the hood.

The lowest Temp I'd see is like 68° in the hills going no faster than 40mph average. Additional fans? Gotta do research on that. I'll also look into a higher pressure radiator cap.
