Low RPM - car shuts off

Picked up a 2011 g37 coupe about 40 days ago. Recently I notice the car has a bit of a rough idle but nothing to loose sleep over.

Started the car after work Friday after work-waited a few minutes - pulled away... stopped for dry cleaning a few minutes away, turned car off... Started car back up... Let it sit for a second- car started idling at about 400rpm and turned off. This happened several times. Called service they walked me through a few steps to finally start the car but couldn't take me in that day (no loaners). Finally got home (very rough the whole way)....

Saturday- same thing happens.. Todays Tuesday they have found NOTHING WRONG...

Any ideas, suggestions, thoughts?

I have read that dirty throttle bodies can lead to the rough idling problem. I have experienced this one time myself, and mine is '09

rough idle.... car shakes more than usual? sounds like a misfire to me, i would recommend replacing the spark plugs and while thats getting done tell the person whos doing it to clean your throttle bodies out for you.

I second Ricio1991.

My car wasn't cutting off like this, but I did do a thorough throttle body cleaning and the RPM dips immediately went away. Start small and go from there. TB Cleaning is easy to do or cheap to have someone else do for you.

I had this happen at a gas station the other day. Filled up with gas, start the car, runs fine for 5 seconds and shuts off. Did it again. Third time I started it and held gas RPM slightly higher then put it in Drive and it was fine, never a problem again. In my 1yr of owning my coupe never a problem. Never since. I restarted it later and fine.

CLEAN YOUR TB's people...These are all signs of dirty TB, clean it and then come back if the problem persists. Look for the DIY it's simple
