Question Engine not turning over

Hey guys, I've been looking for a few days trying to find out whats causing this...found a couple different answers but wanted some input.

Situation: Not every time, but more often than I'd like...when I go to start my G it will go to on/acc but the engine wont turn over. The display keeps showing that I need to depress the clutch and press the start button. Usually when this happens I have to keep turning the car on and off anywhere from 1-2 times or what seems like 20-30 until it cranks.

I've seen stuff from FOB battery low, car battery low, etc....and this is my daily so it's not like it sits for the week or anything.

Thanks for any help!

Off the top of my head, it sounds like a bad starter motor. It's also possible it's your battery. What year is your car/how many miles?

I just found that over on the My350 site. Its called the Clutch Start Switch (keeps the car from launching forward if its in gear when cranking for the most part). Will be looking into this today. I'll let you know how it goes.

The switch itself might not be bad, you may be able to simply adjust it so it closes fully when your clutch is pressed down fully.

You have to push the clutch in. Sorry... I couldn't help it.

I got under there yesterday after looking into the switch stuff online. Haven't had the opportunity to open it up and clean it but I did make sure the little bump that sticks off from the clutch arm is depressing it fully and pressed it in all the way with my finger to no avail....I'm just worried about breaking the switch while opening it (apparently its very sensitive) I might get the dealership to open it up and clean it. Gonna call them in the morning and see how much they'll charge.

I suspect they will not do this.

Most dealership mechanics are into R&R (Remove & Replace) rather than rebuilding stuff...

Hey guys, I went ahead and just ordered the new switch (it was only like $12 so I went for it) pulled the old one and popped the new one in and it seems to have fixed the problem. Haven't had any trouble with her at all since!
