First Service Engine Light and Code
Last week while driving home from work, the dreaded "Service Engine" light came on for the first time on my 2008 coupe with only 30K miles. I plugged in my Actron OBDII scan tool and pulled the code P0116 (engine coolant temperature sensor).
Anyone ever have this code and have any success story or DIY you can share? I'm considering buying the sensor (about $66 according to parts at the local Infiniti dealership) and swapping it out. Anyone change out the sensor? Any tips? Any other possible remedies other than the sensor. (The gas cap is fine.) I just don't want to clear the code, I want to fix what's causing it.
Thanks much.

I thought it might have been a computer glitch so I just unplugged the battery for several hours and the service engine light went away and has been gone for the past 7K miles. I also rescanned and the code went away too. (I didn't erase the code, the code just didn't come back.) There have been no issues at all. Good luck!
