Opinions Needed!! Infiniti says this sound is normal
So I have taken my car into Infiniti several times, dealt with a Engineer Specialist and Infiniti Consumer Affairs and have gotten the complete run around
Basically this sound occurs only when the clutch is down and you rev the car between 500-2500 rpms. According to the service advisers this sound occurs on all manual G37's even a 0 mile brand new one.
I have a 09 G37S with 40k miles on it, My full warranty ends next week while the powertrain still has another 2 years.
Is anyone else experiencing this? I made a video where you can hear the difference when the clutch is up/down.

I drive a 08 G37s 6mt and I was literally just outside saying how annoying that sound is, So I typed it in the search box and up popped this post...I've asked the dealer and they said its NORMAL...I plan on throwing on a full exhaust and hopefully drown it out lol...

I have taken it into two Infiniti's but the problem I am having is that all the service advisers/managers agree that the sound isnt normal until they call the stupid engineer they sent out who originally told us "he has never heard a nissan or infiniti make this sound" now either tells people it either "cant be duplicated" or "its normal". Clearly the sound can be duplicated. Im dealing with Autoline(BBB) right now so im hoping that gets some resolution.

dear toughcookie... you and i sir have the same situation. let me explain mine and what work my dealer has performed.
got my car with 36k CPO currently sitting on 58k miles (1 year of ownership)
my first issues were regarding noise coming under the car
-- Transmission replaced
-- A/C Compressor replaced
4-6k miles later transmission chatter was getting heavy again, this time brought up the issue of gear grinding and not setting in right when put in 1/2/3 (rough shifting and making that annoy sound yours is) dealer looked into the car and determined the following
--part outside of the clutch determined faulty ----new clutch ordered and replaced---
--transmission replaced again
6kish miles later had other issues dealer determined the following
--flywheel failed inspection and was replaced due to something being faulty (forgot what exactly)
car drove smooth for a whole month, not one single noise coming from or within the clutch/shifter area. now im having the issues again. noise is coming when shifter is in first and i start rolling (slow wheel roll) that noise comes on. last tech guy told me "i am very familiar with your car, and this noise is normal" when i brought up that before the noise was determined not to be normal, his excuse was "the noise must have been much louder" this last time they didnt even take the car in to check it out... they determined the noise but didnt check under the car.
now i got a lawyer and hope the lawyer can take care of nissan doing a buyback.
this is from when my clutch and tran was replaced.

What about at idle with no gas? I can be sitting in a parking lot and it will make this noise when the clutch is pressed in. It's not as rhythmic, but pretty much the exact same noise.
Have a hard time going into 1st and 2nd too. Never really grinds, only on a rare occasion but it always feel blocked for half a second. Once in a blue moon, it will go in perfectly and feels amazing.
My guess is input shaft bearing, the synchros, or the slave cylinder. Something they don't replace with a standard clutch replacement.

noise is present in idle (fresh cold starts) and while clutch is in also. didnt know about autoline, wish i had.. right now my lawyer sent a letter to the dealership which sold me the car (car had previous issue with other owner and also stated odd noise but car was sold to me about 8k miles after owner had mentioned this noise) i do wish i could have dealt with infiniti directly.

i get the rattle noise when car is turned on and clutch goes from being in to out. but i blame this on the noisy transmission so i never really said anything about that. a similar rattle happens when the car is turned off without the clutch being in but if you push the clutch in and turn off the car you will notice this rattle doesnt happen and the car turns off soo quietly.
