Finally getting around to your questions and comments! It's been a week after the tune, and I'm still all smiles.

Incredible. Not much of a difference up to 3K RPM but its a tremendous boost above that. The best way I can describe it is like when you are stuffed up from a cold and how meds clear your nose up. She breathes so much better, just an amazing takeoff now.

It was an AWD Mustang Dyno, yes. Headers I'm on the fence about. I've heard little to no gains from an upgrade over OEM as Infiniti's are actually very well made.

The brilliance is in the person using the tools.

Sure Ecutek can change cam/valve timing, but which tuner out there has
the brains to use it safely and effectively???

A street tune also is NOT about pure net power, its also drivability.
This is so spot on. The software surely does something, but the magic is with the installer / tuner. Vince is the MAN when it came down to it. He went above and beyond getting everything out of her.

Not sure if spending the money is worth it with a stocker. A tune will only really benefit with performance mods IMHO. The more, the greater end result. In actuality, you are teaching your vehicle what improvements to run on now. Why would you tell it to re-learn stock setup?

It was pretty damn humid, but they had the fans going. Weather wasn't taken into consideration. That is a printout.

Right! Now that would have been some crazy results.

Again, I'm still sold on what R/T said about EcuTek being the better tune software. I've seen so many UpRev dyno results with even better performance mods than mine (Gen3, TP's, etc.) and I'm way over their results. I know I sound like a fanboy, but just backing up what I've witnessed.

I'll be going in next week for a post-tune checkup and another dyno after 2 weeks of driving on the revamped ECU. I'll be sure to post those results as well.

Z1 makes shorties that are Momentum replica's, all the way down to using the same jig. Must buy DE TP's or HFC's though because of the flange. Those would be the only shortie headers I'd recommend.

For long tubes, PPE rules the roost. There is so much technology going into those headers, it's a laundry list:

409 mild steel or 304 option
multiple Jet Hot coating options including a 2000 degree ceramic black
Header primaries are equal length, with the length being tuned specifically to the VQ37VHR powerband
3/8" ported and sanded flanges
5" 15 degree merge collector
At the bottom of the collector it has a small choke point increaseing low and mid range with no loss on top, before transitioning out to 2.5"
headers are stepped from 1.75" to 1.875" increasing mid range and maintaining top end.

I'm biased... I own PPE's, and so do several race teams that use them on their Z's.
Fast Intentions also has a long tube header option that has good low and mid range, but top end is lacking compared to PPE's.

Outside of those 3 options, I wouldn't look at any other options unless you have $$$ to spend on some JDM ones. Doran racing is also coming out with their own, but the only thing we saw was the merge collector.

DJE, any updates/thoughts on your EcuTek tune you can provide? Did you happen to have UpRev prior to EcuTek?

No, I went right from stock to EcuTek. Wouldn't even consider UpRev after the gains I've had. Seems more people are following my steps too. I've even read some people getting better numbers stock than UpRev.

You bet your **** I'd do it all over again.

Much thanks. 20" Giovanna Killis in Matte Black. Fat 10.5's in the rear.

EcuTek tuners are a tough find, good ones especially. But they're worth it. RTTuning (where I went) has customers coming in on flatbeds from all over the country.

DJE44,

How much were all the mods? Can you list them with a price for each?

With 20s it's an impressive pull.
When mine was done via uprev I pulled 318/270 at the wheels.
Had 20s I was very happy with the before & after.
Ecu tek isn't big worldwide on this platform.
Was introduced to software when I had got the evo x mr.
Same car in Europe was making 400hp without breaking a sweat.
So, it's just a matter of tweaking the runs.
Seeing what they have done with other platforms, I am impressed.
This dyno plot power band curve is nice.

Every time I read this I have to smile." I've even read some people getting better numbers stock than UpRev." So you know or have seen cars make more than 300WHP "Stock" ?

Just curious cause I made 262 WHP and 220WTRQ Stock, and 298WHP 233WTRQ tuned with UPREV I:E. An not knocking ECUTEK, I had is sitting in my house for over a month. the tuner went south on me so I retuned it. Have UPREV again just haven't tuned yet, Z tubes, and Exhaust.
