Upgrades feel sluggish

I have a 2008 G37S Auto with the paddle shifters. So Far I have installed a Stillen Gen 3 CAI, Berk HFC's, Grounding kit, Tanabe mid and Y-pipe, and a top speed muffler. The car sounds great, but I feel I lost a lot of my acceleration. It feels like I am trying to accelerate in a gear higher than what it should be, even when I am manual mode using the paddles. Is there something I can do to fix this, or is this just part of the mods? I feel I gained a little power in the mid range, but not much. I just feel that almost $2000 worth of upgrades would have done more.

Thanks

Tuning is the next step. TBH, anything other than FI is for aesthetics; it won't give you noticeable power, esp. without a tune.

A Tune is a must when you do upgrades on your car, it will pull the full potential out of your upgrades.

Sounds like the next step is a tune. I'm guessing uprev is the way to go. Thanks

unless you have something to compare it to like a time slip prior dyno there is really no way to tell if you lost or gained power..and also a side note just because you get a tune Does not mean you will make more power all it will do is get your A/F where its suppose to be.some have lost a power with a tune
Reset your ECU and see if that solves any issues..

I would try to remove the modded item one at a time to see which is affecting performance. Muffler can make your engine loose torque; intake can suck in hot or turbulence air driving the air sensor crazy. A tune supposed to make things better, but you are at the mercy of the tuner's mood. If he got laid the night before then he may correctly set the ignition table; if his girl friend was fooling around then your engine will be lethargic!

Before getting a tune trying logging your AFRs and see what they look like.

How do I log or test my AFR? Is there a tool out there I can buy or do I need to take it to a tuner shop?

You can do it via UpRev or just on a dyno, but if you're strapping her on a dyno anyways then might as well just get her tuned.

Is the consensus that everyone typically gets a tune done instead of using say the Hypertech preloaded tuners? Has anyone ever done a direct comparison?

at what point of modding do you need to have it tuned? I was considering doing Stillen CBE and GEN 3 intake. Do I need a tune for that?

The point where you're combing headers and HFC's/Test pipes to the equation is generally when your ECU is unable to compensate for the additional airflow on the fly. Most gain about 5-10whp with a Gen 3, HFC's and CBE with a tune, and definitely have improved A/F ratio. Add headers to that mix, and tuning is a mandatory addition.
