Putting Yokohama summer performance tires on a g37xS coupe? X models are more sold in areas that have inclement weather my sales guy says and I tend to agree.

I'll have to pull these things off and put some Pilot Sport AS/3s (yea I know in my sig already but in my plans) and ebay the Yokos

Logic to this?

Why not keep the summer treads and just get a set of dedicated winter tires w/ a set of cheapy rims (or use the OEM rims for the winter and a new set of wheels for the Yokos?)
Sure it doesn't sound logical, but that may have been what the previous owner was planning too
Just saw your sig line and yours is a 2013, so they came new from the dealer that way? If so, I can fully understand why you'd be perplexed.

You have a Sport so I think those came stock with Summer tires from the get-go. If you're going to upgrade your wheels anyway, I would try to sell your stock set with tires. If not, then I would do what newt said and keep those for summer and get a set of cheap wheels with snow tires for winter.

I'm running summer tires on the stock 19's and picked up a set of Blizzaks/18's for 400 off of a G forum. Best of both worlds. No cost to swap tires. If you want to keep one set, just use the Michelins A/S, they've outperformed other pure summer brands already.
