it may still be in the computer unless it's been cleared. If you're under warranty just bring it in and ask. If gas mileage is going down it could be an O2 sensor or a dirty MAF sensor. Also might check your air filters and see if they need to be replaced. Loose gas cap may have also triggered the light. Can't really tell until you get the code what it may be though.

Might just be me... but if that light comes on in MY car, I damn sure won't drive it for a week without getting it checked. That's something my wife would do.

In fact, it would be checked as soon as possible. smh

I agree. Also - many auto parts stores (Auto Zone, O'Reilys, etc) will read it for free. And the OBD2 readers have become fairly inexpensive (@$20 from Amazon) - keeping one handy is very helpful for situations such as this. (personally I have the Torque Android app with a Bluetooth OBDII scanner).

IMO - there are too many possibilities to speculate the cause. The condition should still be stored in the ECU (assuming you did not reset it) - get it read to be certain what the trigger was...

Good luck - and let us know what it was...thx

I had my SES light come on and checked all my fuses/relays and it was a small fuse that controlled the cooling fan, my car was about to boil.
I wouldn't wait around.

Cant you send your computer into diagnostic mode by holding down settings and spinning the volume **** at the same time. Doesn't it show you all of the codes? You can also adjust the backup camera, test speakers, and do some other functions.

I've done this on my car (2009 XS w.premium + nav) but not sure if it works on other years or w/o nav, premium.
