Man, that is just a giant poo-stabber! I guess no hope EVER now for getting that 7AT valve body upgrade. It's so disappointing to see guys that clearly have developed, engineered and pushed the VQ platform as much as they have (probably more than anyone else I can think of off hand) fade into the history books of chapter 11. It's ironic that they had such amazing engineering chops but not so much in the business/cashflow department. I didn't know they went by Power Delivery Systems and not GTM.

In all seriousness though, I'm just disappointed to hear this news because I think it'll be a loss to the G/Z VQ community from a platform development and engineering standpoint. They could have been the AMS Performance of the GT-R world but for the G37 / 370Z world.

It's too bad that they didn't bring in a fiscal wiz from the get go. I'm still amazed by all of their engineering work and development. I feel for all that had money tied up in stuff there.

I don't know anything about bankruptcy law but I hope they can restructure somehowand continue on doing engineering work.

 

^ you would of waited for years for your parts anyways. Plus it prob would of broke or something when you got it. GTM was full of problems. Thank Goodness they will finally be gone!

They're not gone. They are just getting out of paying all of their bills and giving refunds to customers they've F'd over, that's all. If there's too much stigma for them to make money after having screwed over the community they served, they'll simply reform a new company with a new name and get out of their financial responsibilities to everyone they owed money to and hope nobody noticed they're the same clowns wearing different clothes. Living the American Dream. Hopefully somebody will notice and call them out so that people who know what scumbags they are will be aware not do do business with them. But it course some still will.

I read on another forum that Sam is in very poor health. I have no clue if that's actually true or just an excuse designed to elicit sympathy and keep people from being pissed that he stole thousands of dollars from them. It's good they're located in Cali where bros are so chill. In some other places he might have gone to work one morning to find the shop turned into a pile of smoldering ashes.

 

I haven't dealt with GTM myself, but this type of thing happens quite frequently.
Company with good technical ability does great work, everyone loves them. They try to grow (or someone in the company or a financial backer pushes them to grow) way too fast, everything starts imploding.
On a small operation like this, it could be something as simple as one of the key employees being sick for a week. Work falls behind or gets done poorly, everything is playing scramble catch-up after that and you know how that goes.

From what I saw before the fall, they were in touch with the community and doing a lot of innovative stuff.

this is the most shocking part, either the ones that have paid money dont care or they dont want to disclose the fact they actually took a trip to gtm.
if it was me, i would have "dealt" with it even from this corner of the world.

there are also some secretive ppl on the 370z forum, who say they have been in contact with sam@gtm and end sentences with "i dont want to disclose what i heard" which add no value.

 

If it was me, id pay a visit with a camera and see what I could get out of them. Then post it online and let the internet take care of it. Reddit does wonders when you have a good case

 

I asked for a refund since January of last year. Sam keeps giving me the run around and is stalling all the way.

I guess your ill advised rant and uncalled for insults directed toward me are in reference to post 54 of this thread. The one where I jokingly (see the smiley face, jackass?) poked fun back at someone here on the forum that I'm friendly with after he'd poked fun at me. The fact that I knew that he'd gotten a BMW and teased him with a stereotypical complaint about BMW drivers being a-holes should have been a clue to more intelligent people, although it clearly seems you probably aren't among those and it soared right over your head. But you wouldn't know that without understanding the context or seeing the PMs exchanged between me and that poster. Unless maybe you saw that it was all fun and games because the poster actually threw a "thanks" on the bottom of my post. Not surprisingly you missed that clue too, Sherlock. So it seems like possibly he ain't mad about it at all, nor did he see the need to be a rude douchebag as you decided to be. Months after the fact with no knowledge of WTF is even going on in the situation like some moron. Clearly you're not that brightest because the update you're asking about is right here in this thread where it says GTM declared bankruptcy and isn't delivering any product to anyone. At least that's what the people with a 3 digit IQ and a level of reading comprehension above a slow second grader would have gotten from this thread.
