Good luck with your repair, I know someone who did the same thing.
He got a new motor/intakes(intakes optional) all was fine.
Kinda made out on the deal, he got to beat the 1st 25k.
New motor. All good.

I'd be shocked if the engine got hydro locked running through ~18" of water with a completely stock intake system. Did you have a definite root cause finding that the engine itself was damaged? I'd recommend that if it's not too late - would be sucky to have to swap your factory original (yet good) engine for a used engine.

that was my entire gripe but one of the mechanics did tell me there was water in one of the cylinders and they did nothing else after that. mind you they said they only pulled one spark plug. my intake was in fact completely stock but its was missing a few pieces, the extensions off the air boxes going to the bumper. at this point i think its too late to get them to give me definitive proof that my factory motor is borked and im just sick of it all. i can assure you i will be irate if this other engine isnt perfect...

Right so a number of the guys at work are telling me to sell my g after I get it back. Theyre argument is ill nvr be satisfied with it just knowing it has a different engine. If it runs perfectly I dont see why ill have any issues keeping it.

Now my car will have depreciated even more because of the engine replacement, correct? Im wondering what I should do...

its def the recording, its quite a bit louder. im uploading a hopefully better video. i seem to notice my 1st gear not engaging smoothly, kinda bogs down before i get moving. feels like when you activate the vdc but the slip light doesnt come on and it does it regardless on how hard i press the gas. this is from a dead stop. also when making the recording i tried to rev it all the way up but it just hung at like 5k rpm...

I'll bet there is built in rev limiter at a dead stop. Not to worry. Does it rev over 5k on the road?

I'd hate that exhaust. Raspy = nasty. Probably well-made and others may want this. Not I.

Was the exhaust and tune a mod after the engine swap? Or was everything simply switched? I'm confused.
