So you're saying the G35 rear section is too long and you need to go with a G37 manual rear section? You could always take the shaft you just bought to a place to have it shortened.
I talked to a guy today that I'm planning to buy an 08 G37 driveshaft out of a manual from. He measured the rear section at 30.5 inches. I don't know how accurate he measured it though. I can always have it shortened as long as the flanges match up correctly.

I'm off tomorrow AM to another junkyard in Long Island. One hour drive. They have a 2009 G37 manual, and he measured the tail at 30". On the way, I'll try to get some cash back for the other one. It's right off the turnpike exit.
Next week, I get it in The Shop.

You wouldn't by chance be headed to Glen Cove would you? If so, I'm not going to buy it out from under you. I'll just have to move up the list (add $100 btw). Good luck.

Yes. That's EXACTLY who I called. Al from Glen Cove Auto Salvage went and measured the tail for me yesterday.
Ouch. I don't want to press anyone away either. I can drive there, and that's a BIG benefit for me.
Ya know, they list a LOT of 2007 G35's in the same G37 search on car-parts.com. It just may be that the change in lengths happened in that model year and later. The shafts I measured and acquired were from a 2003. Lots of years apart.
Ace Wreckers in Deer Park NY has one for only $100.
Sorry. I'll ask them about the fitment. They may have some interchange book or database.

OK, I just got back from a morning of driving. Managed to get $25 back for the first G35 DS, so that cost me $50 total. (He wasn't going to give any for a return, but I pleaded for gas money.)
Drove the following 45 mins to Glen Cove Auto Salvage. Yup, they had what I wanted for $150 cash. In good shape. It came out of a 4-dr sedan with the 6MT. We took it apart right there so I could fit it in the trunk of my G. Hey, THAT'S why I didn't mind the drive.
I asked him about an interchange, and just as I suspected there ARE models that interchange. He printed me out this data:
Early next week I'll have the car back in The Shop to do the conversion.
After I get it all working I will edit the first post and title with a synopsis of the results, and what to look for, for the future.

Good idea. Here we are:
It's EXACTLY 30" as BB measured. Went to The Shop today to secure my place in line early next week. (Jimmy's 1200hp GTR is itching for a track day. Could be good!)

I misheard my schedule date at The Shop. It's the 13th (one week) not today.
This said, I've been tooling around in the car regardless. Until I go full throttle and hard shifts, the rubber coupling is fine. I don't think it's a mandatory change for anything but a turbo/high torque application.
Boy, do I love how lively the gears are. It's not lazy anywhere and the driving is more spirited.
Other news: I backed into a curb with my powder coated rr rim. 6" scuff = Cranky.
Stay posted.
